Another way medicine has been turned upside down is by the disruption of the physician-patient relationship and the usurping the physician's free exercise of clinical judgment by non physicians. In Ohio, at a secret meeting on Sunday, March 22nd, the Ohio Pharmacy Board enacted a rule prohibiting physicians from prescribing hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus. The next day, on March 23rd, the Ohio Attorney General joined, prohibiting the physician's practice. The following day, March 24th, the two federal prosecutors (U.S. Attorneys) in Ohio joined in regulating the practice of physicians in Ohio, threatening "criminal penalties" for the free exercise of clinical judgment. None of these individuals were physicians. On July 29th, the Ohio Pharmacy Board dug its heels in and attempted to prohibit all use of hydroxychloroquine even for treatment of documented coronavirus infection. On July 30th, Ohio Governor DeWine intervened and overrode the Pharmacy Board. The use of hydroxychloroquine to treat coronavirus infection is now legal in Ohio.
